EPOS strengthens contract scope at Cuiabá Mine in Brazil with world’s third largest gold mining operator

EPOS – Empresa Portuguesa de Obras Subterrâneas, S.A. signed an amendment to the contract for excavation and support works at Cuiabá Mine, in Sabará, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, with the gold mining company AngloGold Ashanti Córrego do Sítio Mineração S.A., for an amount corresponding to 13.5 million dollars.

With this amendment, EPOS, S.A. will execute, over a total period of 4 years, shotcreting and maintenance work on the roadways at the said mine, representing an increase of about 3.4 million dollars per year over the initial contract value, which is more than 17 million dollars per year.

AngloGold Ashanti Córrego do Sítio Mineração S.A. is part of the South African AngloGold Ashanti Group, which is the third largest gold extraction operator in the world and currently has 14 operations on 4 continents.
