Highlights of the work performed:
From 1981 to 1988 Santa Barbara shaft – extraction shaft – with excavated diameter of 5.50 m, 630 m deep, completed lined with a wall of concrete 20 cm thickness. Main Ramp Access from portal to the bottom of the mine, with a development of about 3.5 km, type section of 20 m2 and declining 18%. Crusher station on the mine base, including excavation of approximately 18 000 m3 of rock, together with definitive support comprising bolts, and concrete reinforced by welded steel mesh. EPOS also performed the complete installation of the crushing equipment. Excavation – approximately 3 200 m3 of rock – reinforcement and definitive support of the skip loading chamber and installation of all equipment. Excavation of the pumping station – 5 000 m3 – as the previous ones, together with installation of all equipment, pumps and piping. Excavation of four ore-bins annex to the crusher station, each with a height of 30 m, diameter of 5 m and reinforced concrete lining. Recovery and consolidation of a ventilation shaft 400 m depth and 2.40 m in diameter.
From 1989 to 2003 Between 1989 and 1991, more than 6 km of haulage galleries, with cross sections 12 to 25 m2, were excavated. From 1992 to 1996, construction of a new decline 25%, 974 m long and 12 m2 cross section, excavation of new crushing chamber, pumping rooms and several galleries, involving a total of 80 000 m3 of excavation. In 1997, recovery of the ventilation shaft CPV8, 350 m deep and with a diameter of 3.5 m. In 1998, construction of one ore-bin at level 600 m deep. This ore-bin has a diameter of 5 meters and a height of 45 meters. In 1999 and 2000, construction of the collector 830, construction of Silo No. 5, rehabilitation and strengthening of various galleries and rehabilitation of the chimney CPV12. In 2000 and 2001 was built on the slope of the conveyor belt TP12 and development work performed at various horizontal levels, a total of 1 240 m of galleries.
From 2004 to 2005 In February 2004 a new contract was signed foreseeing the opening of new fronts, totalizing 1580 m and 925 m of decline ramp.
From 2006 to 2008 Construction of mining infrastructure for access to new mining areas in particular, Zambujal, Corvo Sudeste, Graça Sudoeste and Lombador. Excavation of 21 718 m of galleries with 18 to 25 m2 cross sections and application of 45 866 m3 of shotcrete.
From 2009 to 2011 Continued work on development of mining infrastructure. |
